Move Early, Commit Carefully
What Munich and the US taught me about learning fast and choosing what deserves to last
Customers used to see a demo and ask when it would become available. Now they want a working prototype right away, and if they like it, they want it generally available yesterday, even in large enterprises and highly regulated industries. With competition fiercer than ever and AI opening the door to returns nobody has seen before, customers have options if you can't deliver. And they still expect you to stand behind what you ship.
In this closing keynote, Simina Pasat, ex-VP of Product at GitHub, draws on a career that started at TUM and led to GitHub, to show why the tension between learning fast and committing carefully has only sharpened with AI. Through stories from hybris labs in Munich, Xbox, GitHub Special Projects, and taking Copilot Enterprise from preview to GA, she shares how the best teams hold both: moving early enough to learn, and committing carefully enough to endure.
You'll walk away knowing how to win over both the users who adopt a product and the leaders who commit to it, why the customers pushing you hardest to move fast are the same ones who will hold you accountable if the product breaks, and why the lessons learned in Munich and in the US work best together.

Simina Pasat
Simina is VP of Product at GitHub, where she leads product management for the developer platform. Her team took GitHub Copilot Enterprise to general availability in February 2024.
Before GitHub she was at Microsoft, where her team took App Center from beta to GA, with earlier stops at Xbox Live, SAP Hybris and 4PSA. Developer tooling has been the through-line of her whole career.
She holds a Master's from Technische Universität München, so closing Just Product in Munich is something of a homecoming.
