She Was the Only PM at Her Company. Then She Built Herself an AI Team.

Verena Graber joined Product Masterclass feeling like an octopus with 800 arms. Eight weeks later, she’s running a customer research engine, automated product docs, and a different conversation with Sales and CS.
Verena Graber is the only Product Manager at MedFlex, an automation tool for medical facilities. When she signed up for Product Masterclass, she described her job like this:
Octopus with 800 arms
“I felt like an octopus with 800 arms, somehow keeping every ball in the air. I was at a point where I had to change something, or just drop half my tasks. Everything was on fire.”
She knew AI could help. That wasn’t the problem. The problem was time. I know these tools will help me. I just can’t carve out the hours to learn them properly. It’s a sentiment any solo product manager will recognize.
Day one, the fog lifted
The shift came faster than she expected.
“The fog lifted on day one. I’d come in thinking I had nothing. No AI workflows, no setup. And I got pretty quickly woken up to the fact that wasn’t true. Everything I already had could be used.”
Most product managers assume they need to build new systems from scratch before AI can help them. Verena learned the opposite. The transcripts her Sales team was already recording. The support tickets her CS team was already logging. The development tickets her engineers were already closing. All of it was raw material she could repurpose.
That insight set the tone for everything else.
You’re sitting on raw material you haven’t used yet?
In 8 weeks at Product Masterclass you learn to turn what your team already produces into your own AI workflow. Live, with a cohort of PMs.

Two systems stand out.
A customer research engine, without doing more interviews.
Verena had almost no time to run customer interviews herself. So she stopped trying. Instead, she pulled every transcript from Sales, CS, and Support calls into one place and built a workflow that categorizes them automatically. By customer segment. By conversation type. Training, sales pitch, feedback, support.
Each category gets a different analysis. Support tickets surface the most frequent issues and which customer groups keep raising them. Training sessions reveal which content generates the most questions. New customer calls expose the must have features for the sales pitch.
The recruiting use case is the kicker. Verena used to walk over to Sales and ask, can you think of a customer who recently mentioned X? Sales would shrug. Now she queries her own system. I need customers with this team structure who’ve already raised this topic. The system returns three names. People who’ve already said they care.
Automated product news, end to end.
Writing internal product updates used to be Verena’s least favorite task. Late nights on the couch, the most hated item on her list. By the time she finished, the info was stale and the team was annoyed.
She replaced it with an agent. The moment a development ticket gets marked done, the agent generates a product news article. One version for internal teams in Confluence, one version for the customer help center. Then it fires a push notification into the product news channel on Teams.
The product news agent
“Just two minutes before our call, I triggered my agent again. It now creates everything automatically the moment a ticket is done.”
The result: faster, higher quality communication, and the death of “hey, what’s the status of X?” questions that used to hit her thirty times a day.
Want to build your own systems, not just use tools?
Customer research engines, agents, automated product docs. That’s exactly what we train in Product Masterclass. 8 weeks, 9 sessions, your own setup at the end.
See the program →The part that surprised her
Asked what’s changed in her day to day, Verena gave the obvious answer first. She has time back. Eight hundred arms is more like four now.
Then she said something less expected.
“I’m rethinking how we deploy team resources. I hired a Product Designer during the Masterclass. I’m starting to realize I don’t need them as a Designer anymore. I’m going to grow them into a PM role, owning a product area like I do today. AI handles the design tooling.”
That’s the real promotion AI offers. Not replacement. Redirection. Move humans to where they’re actually creating value, and let the AI handle the parts that used to eat the calendar.
The same shift rippled across the company. The friction between Sales, CS, and Product, the cross functional war every B2B PM knows, started to ease. Not because anyone resolved it, but because there’s now a shared data foundation everyone can point at. Fewer arguments about who’s right. More conversations about what does the data say.
From AI anxiety to AI agency
Her closing line is the one that sticks.
I get to design it
“You hear all day that everything is going to be replaced and automated. Why am I even doing this job? Why does it still feel like I can’t finish anything? Now I get to decide what gets replaced and what doesn’t. That’s a pretty good position to be in.”
That’s the shift Product Masterclass is built to create. From will AI replace me to I get to direct it. From spectator to operator.
Verena is now her company’s internal AI champion. The CS team is implementing similar patterns. The role of the person who orchestrates AI across teams is becoming its own thing, and she’s stepping into it.
From spectator to operator.
That’s the shift Product Masterclass is built for. If you want to direct AI in your job instead of being directed by it, join the next cohort.

Her advice to other PMs
“Even if you feel like you’re relatively far along, take the time. The Masterclass opens up so much space to just sit with a blank page and ask yourself what you actually want to build. If it stays like this, I’m signing up again next year.”
